A Story Of The Inspiring Conjoint Twins Abby And Brittany
A Gift From God
God had made us special in our own way. We all have different talents and abilities. Some are better than others. Some have to work harder than others. Both Mother Nature and society attack us with all kinds of challenges. The one who is able to overcome these challenges and become successful in life is the true winner.
What you are about to read is the true story of conjoined twins. When they were born, it was believed that they would not survive for long. However, they fought all odds and emerged victoriously.
The Stars
Abigail (Abby) and Brittany Hensel hail from Minnesota, USA. The sisters plunged into the world of fame when they appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 1996. They were only six years old then. When they turned 16, they appeared on a documentary for TLC. The two also had their own show called “Abby and Brittany”, in 2012.
Let us know more about them.
Early Life
Abigail and Brittany were born on March 7th, 1990, to Patty, a nurse and Mike, a carpenter and landscaper. They have one torso, two heads, four lungs, two hearts and two stomachs. However, they share most of their bottom half. The siblings attended a private church school and graduated from Bethel University in Minnesota.
Patty and Mike never wanted them to be separated. They love their daughters unconditionally, just the way they are. They have encouraged them to build their individual personalities. The twins cut two birthday cakes and buy two tickets to the movies. On misbehaving, the one who is guilty gets the scolding and not both.
Amazing Teamwork
It is most noteworthy to see how the girls have learned to coordinate with each other. Be it volleyball, playing the piano, cycling, swimming or driving, they are the best partners. While eating, one holds the fork and the other, the knife. They take turns to put the food in each other’s mouth. Also, they rarely argue.
Abby and Brittany had to pass their driving tests twice. Also, Brittany handles the left side of the driver’s seat while Abby handles the other. Patty commented, “I don’t know what would happen if they got pulled over for speeding. Would they each get a ticket or just Abby because it’s her foot on the accelerator?”
However, they do not agree on everything. Brittany even said, “Believe me, we are totally different people.” While Abby, the stubborn one, likes orange juice, Brittany prefers milk. Abby loves Mathematics while Brittany is good at writing.
The latter is more prone to colds and has had pneumonia twice. At one time, Abigail almost got tired of staying in bed the whole day and wanted to be separated. But when Brittany began to cry, Abby reassured her that the twins would never part.
The sisters have reportedly told Discovery Channel that someday they would like to date, get married and start families.
Finally, I would conclude by saying that not everyone can have such a positive attitude in life. Abby and Brittany are a living example of sheer grit, resolution, and teamwork.
