5 Easy Steps to Improve your Mental Health!

We all love dining at fancy places and exquisite bars, we love eating fancy food, but what if our body someday decides not to let the waste out someday? What if there is no excretion mechanism? Will not all the toxins eventually get accumulated and affect our health, causing illnesses?

Similarly, when we do not clear mental dirt out of our system, the toxins affect our health and even end up causing severe illnesses, which can sometimes lead to serious issues like depression or the tendency to be suicidal.

Here, we have compiled five things that you and I can practice very quickly, every day, to declutter your mind in a limited amount of time and improve your mental health.

5 Easy Steps to Improve your Mental Health!

1. Breathe

How many of us have actually paid attention to the human body’s simple yet essential activity? Breathing in terms of survival might sound petty but breathing in terms of mental health is immensely vital. A two-minute breathing exercise is straightforward; all you have to do is go to a place where you have access to fresh air and greenery, close your eyes and stand there for just two minutes. Let the new air travel from the outside to the inside. This refreshing yet straightforward activity will help you with your mental health and help improve your concentration levels.

2. Talk

It is widely said that sharing your pain lessens it. To have someone you can share your feelings with, and confide in is in itself one of the most cathartic experiences one can have on their journey to good mental health. Confiding in someone requires you to find more reliable or trustworthy people, but it can also be as simple as talking to your mother. It is psychologically proven that lying down on your mother’s lap releases hormones like oxytocin that help relieve stress and calm down your nerves. A two-minute talk with someone can help you in ways you could have never imagined.

3. Write

When you reach out to a psychiatrist, the first habit they want you to cultivate is the habit of writing. We all have issues we are not comfortable speaking about with our dear ones; in situations like these, writing can be a way out. Whatever it is that you feel weighing you down mentally, you should write it down. Writing down in a daily diary can also be your muse. Try it! It will help you realize the feelings you had no idea even existed.

4. Forgive

Before going to bed each day, forgive everyone who has been in some way or the other, a source of hurt or misery for you. Forgive them in the best possible way because forgiveness, as much as it sounds to be for someone else, is not for them, but for you.

5. Pray

As much as this may sound bizarre and out of context in this regard, it is not. It is a way of connecting with your subconscious. Spirituality can be achieved either by paying a mindful visit to a temple, mosque, church, etc., or taking up five minutes of meditation daily to declutter your mind and rejuvenate. Spirituality will help you unravel the underlying mental issues relatively honestly and help you understand life a little deeper.

Practising these simple five steps regularly will connect you to the subconscious you thought was elusive. These steps are easy and effective, take only half an hour of your day, and rejuvenate you in ways you didn’t know you needed.

I urge you to try all or some of them and let us know you like it in the comments section below!
