6 Ways to Get to Know Your Partner Better

No matter how long you’ve been with your current partner, there’s always an opportunity to get to know them better. You can live by someone’s side for decades and still not know the answer to some incredibly poignant questions.

If you’re eager to get started, but you’re not quite sure how to go about this, you have come to the right place. Here are six easy and fun ways you can get to know your partner better.

1. Try their Favourite Hobby

Don’t hesitate to get stuck in with their hobbies and interests. Who knows? You may find your next passion. If not, it’s still a great way to spend some quality time with your loved one and show them you’re taking an interest in the things they love. Although it’s great to have your own pursuits, it’s also good to share a hobby.

2. Meet the Family

There’s nobody that will know your significant other as well as their closest friends and family members. Arrange a weekend in their hometown and get to know more about the place that they grew up in. When you meet the family, we recommend you bring a gift to make the best first impression possible.

3. Take a Vacation

Dating someone and going on a vacation with them are two completely different things. If you haven’t moved in together yet, this is a great opportunity to find out what they are like to live with. Plus, it’s a great way to see how your conversations flow and where the adventure will take you.

4. Do a Personality Test

One of the easiest ways to gain insight into your partner’s personality is by conducting a Myers-Briggs test. You can find these tests online and figure out what kind of personality you both have. There are very in-depth explanations, such as INFP in love, that can help you understand what your partner is like when they are in a relationship.

5. Play a Question Game

Another fun way to break the ice with a partner is by playing a question game. You can choose to write down a set of deep and interesting questions that you both answer. If you’re not that creative, you can purchase a premade version.

6. Go on a Road Trip

If you’re not sure how you will both deal with situations of pressure, going on a road trip is a good time to test this out. You never know what may happen while you’re on the road. Will you be able to communicate? These are important aspects of a person’s personality

At the end of the day, it’s incredibly important that your partner feels seen and heard. When you sit down and make an effort to truly get to know the person you love, you are making a conscious decision to bond and deepen the love you feel for your partner. Hopefully, these tips have encouraged you to take the lead and get to know your significant other better.
