Essential oils are often used aromatically and as a form of alternative medicine. The plant extracts are used to improve health and well-being. Each oil has its unique characteristic essence due to its aromatic compounds. The oils have the plant’s essence or scent captured.

You can also apply essential oils for better absorption results. However, results may vary according to the area under consideration or method used.

These oils are beneficial in various ways, and most prominently help in stimulating the limbic system. The limbic system is a part of the brain involved in emotions, sense of smell, memory, and behavior.

1. Peppermint Essential Oil 

Peppermint is beneficial for digestion and boosts energy. It is a versatile essential oil and has a large number of advantageous properties. Peppermint oil can be used internally, topically, and aromatically. It helps relieve joint and muscle pain. It is a natural painkiller. Therefore, it is also used in treating headaches and migraines. Peppermint oil, when mixed with ethanol and applied on foreheads and temples, works wonders!

Peppermint oil helps boost energy as well, in a natural way. It can also be used to increase hair growth and thickens hair naturally. Peppermint also acts as a natural remedy for sunburn. The oil has high SPF and helps in protecting the skin from harmful sun rays.

2. Lavender Essential Oil 

One of the most readily available essential oils, lavender oil works wonders in relieving stress and reducing headaches mixed with peppermint oil. This oil treats insomnia as well and aids in improving sleep quality. A whiff of lavender oil helps in sleep better and relaxing your mind from stress. It has significant positive effects on sleeping habits.

3. Chamomile Essential Oil 

This oil is used to improve the mood and helps in relaxation. Furthermore, it can be used for headaches and migraines, like lavender and peppermint oil. It also helps in relieving upset stomach, nausea, gastric problems, or indigestion. Furthermore, it is beneficial in healing wounds, ulcers, and sores. More often, chamomile oil is used in treating skin conditions like rashes or eczema.  

4. Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree oil is used in treating infections and is used to boost immunity. It is also used as an antibiotic and antimicrobial. This oil is also used as an insect repellent and is considered to be extremely useful. It can be used to kill insects as well. You can use this essential oil as a natural deodorant since it has anti-bacterial properties and helps remove underarm odor.

In many cases, it is utilized in treating acne; the oil helps decrease lesions caused due to acne. This oil helps in fighting dandruff as well. Moreover, along with health benefits, tea tree can be used as an all-purpose cleaner.

5. Lemon Essential Oil                       

Lemon essential oil is used to improve digestion and relieve headaches. It is used in treating gastrointestinal problems, including constipation and other digestion problems. It has a blend of micro-nutrients and phytonutrients, making it perfect for the treatment of indigestion.

It further helps in relief from nausea and is specifically beneficial for pregnant women. The essential oil is also used as a body cleanser and provides other skin benefits, including treating acne, minimizing pore and excessive sebum, and imparting hydration.

Essential oils are used for many health benefits and are very safe. They are readily available at drugstores, or even marketed by makeup brands. Essential oils have been in use for years, for health as well as medicinal benefits.
