Jobs that pay you for sleeping aren’t just wishful thinking anymore! All of us must have, at least once in a lifetime, wished for something like this- a place where we can sleep and earn.
All our mornings are filled with thoughts and wishes to go back to sleep. But money makes us get up and report to our respective jobs. But what if your job gives you money to sleep? Here are a few jobs where you earn sleeping peacefully.
1. Scientific research projects:
Various hospitals and universities are looking for participants who can take part in research opportunities which include studies on sleep. Studies may focus on anything like brain waves, respiration, heart rate, etc while one is asleep.
And yes this job pays great. According to a study by University at Colorado, a 14 to 17-day sleep study paid as much as $2730.
2. Bed and Mattress Tester
This is the dream job. Sleep and test and get paid. There are companies where positions are filled for checking out anything from mattresses to duvets. You have to test products and give your feedback, at most blog out your experience.
A great deal, isn’t it?
3. Medical consultants at some hospitals for a night job
Certain Paediatricians and Neonatologists work 12 and half hour night shifts and are allowed to sleep throughout the night unless an emergency arrives. They are generally paid three times more than the practitioners working in the day shifts.
4. Exhibitionist sleeper
This may sound a little bit controversial now, it was certainly true in 2009. The New Museum had vacancies which requited women between the age of 18-40 who just had to take sleeping pills and sleep in the middle of the museum between 12 pm and 6 pm.
Though it may be a thing of the past, you never know when this vacancy opens up again, there or somewhere else.
5. Companies offer nap time
Certain companies like Facebook, Google, Huffington Post and National Wide Planning encourage their employees to take a mid-day nap. They have even built energy pods that offer a unique design and allow employees to recline. These are sound and light proof, thus not allowing any disturbance from outside to enter inside.
Wish our companies give these pods soon. :p :p
