Local Attractions in Phuket to Add to your Holiday Itinerary

If you are planning a holiday in Phuket, you should be congratulated for your choice of holiday destination and in this short article, we offer a few local attractions on the tropical island of Phuket that should be on your to-visit list.

  • Jet ski guided tour – Why not book a guided jet ski tour and visit a total of 7 islands in the Phuket area? Two people can ride one jet ski, as long as their combined weight is less than 180kg and the tour guide has his own jet ski. The islands on the schedule include Monkey Island, Pare Island, Naka Noi Island, Sop Island, Rang Yai Island, Rung Noi Island and Bat Island. If you are staying at one of the hotels in Phuket near Patong Beach, the tour operator will send a vehicle to collect you and return you to your hotel after the tour is complete.
  • Green Elephant Sanctuary Park – There are elephant sanctuaries and there are elephant sanctuaries, and we are pleased to announce that this sanctuary is one of the better ones. These majestic animals should not be trained to perform tricks for human entertainment and when you visit the Green Elephant Sanctuary Park, you get to interact with these amazing animals in their natural habitat. If you ever relocate to a foreign country, here are some valuable tips.
  • Soi Dog Foundation – This is a charitable organisation that helps stray dogs in the Phuket area; using the CNVR protocol (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return). The charity welcomes visitors and if you are a dog lover, this is a must-visit for you as you can play with the dogs and help out with the feeding. The SDF actually finds owners to adopt the rescue dogs, even from Europe and the US and the foundation gratefully accepts donations.
  • Speedboat tour of James Bond Island – This is an 8-hour speedboat tour of the Phang Nga Bay area, where you can enjoy stunning views of Kao Phing Kan, better known as James Bond Island. The 1974 movie, ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ was made on this stunning tropical island and when you visit, you will understand why they chose this idyllic island.
  • Snorkelling on Phi Phi Islands – You can’t visit Phuket and not experience snorkelling on Phi Phi Islands; the skipper knows all the best spots where you might see bottle-nose dolphins and perhaps even swim with a whale shark. Enjoy a Thai lunch and after that, you can try out numerous water sports.

Phuket is a tropical paradise, which is why it is one of the top holiday destinations in Southeast Asia and we hope that you have a memorable holiday and add some (or all) of the above tour suggestions. If you wish to learn more about the attractions in Phuket, click here.
